Program Description:

INSEEC French-Alps Summer School

INSEEC LogoThis four week program is designed to develop students's knowledge in understanding the major challenges of business and the tourism industry in Europe. All courses are taught in English and provide insight into the development of European Business. The exceptional location of Chambery, France, one of the country's strongest economic regions, will allow for trips to Geneva , Charmonix and Turin where students will visit international institutions, companies and cultural sites with the aim to give students an overall view of the region's economic and social assets. UCM students will be studying with students from all over the world at this summer school!

Credits

Students should expect to earn between 3-6 UCM credits from this program. It is ultimately up to the academic departments to determine credit allocation for individual students. Students should therefore visit with their academic departments and academic adviser.

INSEEC in GenevaTrips and Cultural Events

Day Trips

Geneva, Switzerland- Students will visit the city of Geneva and the Headquarters of the UNOG (United Nations Office Geneva). This day excursion will allow students to walk around the historic city center and the shops of Switzerland's most international city.

Turin, Italy- Turin is a major business and cultural centre in northern Italy and is often referred to as the capital of the Alps. Turn was the 2006 host of the Winter Olympics. Turin is also well known for its automobile industry with FIAT, Lancia and Alfa Romeo located here. Students will be visiting the Martini Rossi Company in the morning and enjoying free time in the afternoon. 

Chamonix- Students will enjoy a cable car ride to the Brevant Summit to admire the view of the French, Swiss, and Italian Alps.

Housing

Students will be housed near the center of Chambery in modern, fully furnished apartments. Internet is provided with the apartments. Shops and cafes in the historic center are Chambery, France (INSEEC)within easy walking distance with many festivals and music to enjoy during the summer. Students can easily access bus and train services close by. 

Insurance

All UCM students attending the INSEEC Summer School will be provided with travel insurance via the Study Abroad office. All students are required to obtain this health insurance before participating in this program.

Costs and Tuition

Students will be charged a program fee of 2,400 Euros which includes tuition and fees, accommodation, excursions, winery visit and tasting, cooking class and farewell dinner. Please see the budget sheets at the top of this program for a list of comprehensive costs!
